Each day, more companies are putting away WP5.1 and turning to MS Word because of its compatibility with the Internet and medical management programs. Transcriptionists who are proficient in other word processors, especially WP5.1, are caught in the middle of this change. MS Word and WP5.1 are philosophically very different. MTs find their productivity decreases while their daily frustration increases. Almost daily, I hear from typists who tell me they had little-to-no training before moving to MS Word. "Generic courses" in MS Word teach the MTs mousing skills instead of keyboard skills and fail to address the features MTs need most. MTs become quite discouraged as they see the time they spend at the computer increasing while their production decreases. IC's suffer the most in terms of time and income, but hospital transcription departments are also affected. Turn-around time increases as well as the amount of work to be out-sourced.
MTWerks focuses on the skills the medical transcriptionist needs to work faster and more efficiently in MS Word. Below are some of the features and benefits that are covered in our seminars and training sessions.
Proper training in MS Word using curriculum designed for medical transcription is extremely cost effective and has many advantages over standard training.
